Dominica or Where's Johnny Depp?

We woke up bright and early and this was the sight we saw
It was beautiful, a tad muggy and we were looking forward to our adventure
We were met at the dock by our driver Martin, a very nice person and very talented we were thankful for him and his driving skills as the road was a tad tight and it was mountainous. We traveled to a river and were transferred to a friend of his named James Bond, yes really his name was James Bond. He rowed his flat boat through this amazing river and told us about the flora and fauna of Dominica. We saw so many different types of crabs, never knew there were so many varieties.
We were told that this was where they filmed Pirates of the Caribbean 2 &3 where the woman, who you needed subtitles to understand her English, lived.
Kyle, James Bond and Tyler
The canopy above us as we  were on the river.

after our trip on the water we met up  with Martin and he took us on to Cabrits National Preserve. It was interesting to see the history of the place. Before we hiked up to the fort it began to pour.  Martin brought out his guitar and sang to us. Not many people around but the folks working a the park, they gathered closer. He has a beautiful voice and it was an experience we never expected.

We were having so much fun that I forgot to bring Buzz and Woody out to take a photo. So here we are in the van. Right after this photo was taken Tyler was saying he was hungry. Martin stopped at a roadside stand and bought us roasted plantains. Oh MY GOSH, they were sooooo goood.  Really yummy.
walking up the gang plank. I'm sure the crew thought I was a tad odd. Nothing new there.
leaving Dominica such a beautiful sight but alas no Johnny Depp.
Ky and Ty enjoying the pool as we sail away. Next stop Grenada.
